The tandem is the symbol of "the village" from cult British TV show The Prisoner. The Mars symbol representing masculinity. The prisoner says, "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!" His number is six, six represents man in the Hebrew numerical system, the sixth day of creation when God created man.
Then there's fluxus, which alludes to the fluxus art movement. The image also owes some debt to mod culture
