Insane (Humour)
British and Internet Culture
A hostile visitation
To our snugly established unification
Initially perceived as pure invention
A frenzied result born of an overzealous imagination
The nagging doubts continue
Chiseling away at our wall to wall harmony,
Loosening the hermetically sealed bond with savage alacrity
Elusive in meaning, cold menacing in spirit
Too confused to put a voice to my mounting anxieties
Praying that it is all solipsistic gibberish
Drawing on our apparent mental stability
I banish all the shattering erotica
And yet all space expands
In a multiplicity of directions
As I frantically scuttle around
In search of fragments of reason
Too fearful to enquire
About the picture you see
The once solid arena of 'usness'
Being so unforgivingly hollowed out
As a giddying concotion of emotion
Floods the final waves of optimism
With such cruel detachment
Overwhelming in its relentless quest for obliteration
Words reduced to primitive panic sounds
That stutter out, refusing to make sense
As we stare helplessly, into the ever expanding void
Witnessing the final remnants erode
Leaving two alienated selves
Pointing in different directions
Shivering, raw with fragility and dread
Desperately clinging to a distancing memory of unification
Before starting out in stark solitude
On the jealous journey towards
Self-reformation,
And positive singularity.
